We live in an age where minds are shaped by images, films, and series. If we do not tell the story of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the language of today, others will tell it in their own way—or it will fade from the memory of future generations. In Hussein’s story, may God’s peace be upon him, there are countless lessons and profound insights; through reflecting on them and learning from them, a sound mind is formed, a pure innate nature is preserved, and a Husayni individual and community are built—one that awaits and prepares the path for the Master of the Age, the keeper of Hussein’s legacy and the avenger of his cause, Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his noble reappearance).
